Resumen
This study explores songwriting experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to understand how exceptional circumstances affected musicians' creativity and compositional process. A phenomenological study was carried out with five participants from different specialties, residing in Peru, using semi-structured interviews. Transcripts were coded and analyzed thematically. As a result, two theoretical categories were generated: a) processes and use of technological tools for musical creation and b) impact of the pandemic on songwriting. Similarities were identified in the composition processes and variants in how the pandemic influenced the topics addressed. The experiences documented in this study enrich theoretical knowledge about the processes and stages of songwriting. In addition, they offer musicians tools to face future adversities, strengthening their resilience and adaptation to challenges.
