Epicuro y la música como propedéutica hacia la felicidad

Resumen
Según la concepción de Epicuro el fin de la vida humana es la felicidad. Y para conseguir dicho fin no sería importante solo el cultivo de la filosofía, sino también el conocimiento de la música. Para ello es necesario sentir las ondulaciones de los sonidos, pues ellos causan sensaciones agradables y se convierten en cadenas de movimiento que van desde un emisor de sonidos a un sujeto sensible que los recibe. La acústica, la afinación y los efectos sonoros propician sensaciones que gravitan en el cuerpo y el alma. Son fuente de satisfacciones que contribuyen a la felicidad. Este artículo tiene tres partes. La primera explica la música como una cualidad sensible del cuerpo y del alma. La segunda explica cómo la música contribuye a la tranquilidad del alma y el cuerpo. La tercera expone la idea de la música como un placer catastemático y como impulsora de nuestros sentimientos básicos.
According to Epicurus' conception, the end of human life is happiness. And to achieve this goal, not only the cultivation of philosophy would be important, but also the knowledge of music. To do this, it is necessary to feel the undulations of sounds, since they cause pleasant sensations, becoming chains of movement that go from a sound emitter to a sensitive subject that receives it. Acoustics, tuning, and sound effects are sensations that gravitate to the body and soul. They are sources of satisfaction that contribute to happiness. This article has three parts. The first explains music as a sensitive quality of the body and soul. The second, maintains that music contributes to the tranquility of the soul and body. The third, considers music as a catastematic pleasure and promoter of our basic feelings.
