Resumen
A través de sus diversos textos recopilados, Miscelánea Cultural del Cusco ofrece un panorama de la trayectoria vital del cusqueño Abel Rozas Aragón, destacando la generosa semblanza introductoria escrita para la ocasión que articula a los demás textos, dotándoles de “carácter autobiográfico y existencial, a manera de una crónica palpitante” (p. 91). La actividad intelectual y la artística de Rozas se encuentran felizmente en sus páginas, dejando testimonio no sólo de la investigación y la reflexión del autor, sino también de su rica travesía musical y creativa. Y sobre todo, el libro recoge protagonistas, instituciones y hechos poco conocidos de la historia musical de una de las ciudades más importantes de América, el Cusco.
Through its various collected texts, Miscelánea Cultural del Cusco offers an overview of the life of Cusco native Abel Rozas Aragón, highlighting the generous introductory sketch written for the occasion that links the other texts together, giving them “an autobiographical and existential character, like a vibrant chronicle” (p. 91). Rozas’ intellectual and artistic activity happily meet in its pages, leaving testimony not only of the author’s research and reflection, but also of his rich musical and creative journey. And above all, the book brings together protagonists, institutions and little-known facts from the musical history of one of the most important cities in America, Cusco.
