Resumen
The following article proposes that in the consolidation process of the urban cueca in Santiago and Valparaíso (Chile) at the beginning of the 21st century, the disappearance of some of the oldest referents of the performance of this variant of the Chilean cueca forced the new actors and new musicians to reactivate the musical circuits of the 19th century through which this musical genre had traveled and settled in Peru and Chile.
