Resumen
This paper analyses the aesthetic-musical characteristics of the repertoire for guitar quartet composed in Peru in the last twenty-seven years, from the formal, melodic, harmonic and timbric aspects. The need for analysis is due to the heterogeneity of a significant corpus of composition works and the search for interpretative criteria. In the contextualization, the history of the quartets formed in the country is explored and its relationship with the general musical trends that have been presented in academic composition is revealed, distinguishing the differences between a modernist trend, which corresponds to the twentieth century, and the multiple trends that have emerged in the 21st century. The approach to these processes makes it possible to determine the existence of an aesthetic plurality in musical composition for guitar quartet in this time and place.
