Este futuro es otro futuro es un texto originalmente escrito como disertación doctoral por José Ignacio López Ramírez Gastón para obtener el grado de Doctor de Filosofía en Música, en la Universidad de California, San Diego, el año 2020. El texto lleva como subtítulo El papel del discurso social en el [sub] desarrollo de la música electrónica en el Perú, y quizás sea una frase que revela más sobre el contenido de este texto que su propio título. En efecto, el autor se dedica a investigar la influencia (en muchas ocasiones negativa) que tienen las narrativas sobre nación e identidad peruana en la aceptación y promoción de la música electrónica en nuestro país.
