Resumen
Entre las sorpresas artísticas de 2020, destaca el álbum Nuevos aires chilenos para oboe, que cuenta con la colaboración de siete talentosos músicos chilenos: seis compositores y el virtuoso oboísta José Luis Urquieta Plaza. En la presentación del álbum, Urquieta expresa que este proyecto nació de su inquietud por ampliar el repertorio para oboe solo, lo cual lo llevó a navegar por diversos orígenes y búsquedas estéticas. La impecable calidad técnica e interpretativa de Urquieta, sumada al buen gusto de los compositores, que exitosamente logran alcanzar el balance perfecto entre elementos oboísticos tradicionales y la técnica extendida, impresionan desde la primera hasta la última nota. Y a pesar de que este tipo de producciones son escasas en este lado del mundo, no cabe duda de que son imprescindibles para visibilizar el potencial de las nuevas generaciones de músicos latinoamericanos, y contar con un importante referente en la formación de nuevos oboístas
Among the artistic surprises of 2020, the album Nuevos aires chilenos para oboe stands out, which features the collaboration of seven talented Chilean musicians: six composers and the virtuoso oboist José Luis Urquieta Plaza. In the presentation of the album, Urquieta expresses that this project was born from his concern to expand the repertoire for solo oboe, which led him to navigate through diverse origins and aesthetic searches. Urquieta's impeccable technical and interpretive quality, added to the good taste of the composers, who successfully manage to achieve the perfect balance between traditional oboistic elements and extended technique, impress from the first to the last note. And despite the fact that this type of productions are scarce on this side of the world, there is no doubt that they are essential to make visible the potential of the new generations of Latin American musicians, and to have an important reference in the training of new oboists.
